"We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open."- Jawaharial Nehru
"Tour 80 Euros. Lunch 30 Euros. Million dollar view....priceless."- Angela McQuillan
Our guide Peter took us to a small restaurant for a lunch break on our "Sound of Music" tour.
When we came down the hill in the minivan I couldn't believe my eyes. A truly breathtaking view of the same lake that was in the "Sound of Music" movie and the incredible Austrian alps.
The terrace had four cafe style tables with only enough room to sit and the owner to serve you. Looking out on the view reminded me a little of Lake Louise. Almost surreal.
We met other Canadians from Peterborough also enjoying the view.
Not to sound like a cliche, but it is a small world.
Tour operators also enjoying lunch on the terrace.....hopefully no beer?
Deb and I shared the char fish dinner. A local catch in the water below. All the food is organic and delicious. She was scared of the head.....but I cut it off and ate it! No.... I didn't eat it.
How amazingly breath-taking these photos are! Also amazing that the Sound of Music was filmed there. Thanks for sharing Angela! It brings so much magic to see the places in the film are actually real!
