Christmas Eve in London

Christmas Eve night was magical.
After our shopping trip to Harrod's we had a quick bite to eat and off on the tube we went to Trafalgar Square.  I believed that there would be Christmas lights galore....but there weren't.
A bit disappointed, we got back on the tube and went to the Embankment stop, which to our surprise was just below the Millennium bridge.  All lit up.  Walking across, seeing the city shine on the water was magical.  At the far end of the bridge, a Christmas Market was nearing its end of the night.
Roasted chestnuts, BBQ sausages, candies, gifts, street entertainers, tons of people and everything twinkling.
Our walk on that side brought us to the London Eye.  Closed for the evening but all aglow in beautiful blue.

Crossing the bridge, we head toward Big Ben.  It was really surprising how many people were out and about in the city on Christmas Eve.
It was mild outside and we strolled around until we were ready to go back to our B&B.  Our room is a traditional English room in my mind.  Wall papered in beige, flowered curtains, wall heaters, a fireplace and located on the 3rd floor, no elevators. I loved it.

Got to get to bed, because Santa is coming!!
And to all a good night.
