"Let There Be Peace on Earth and Let it Begin With Me"

The are many reminders around to also encourage the peace process.  I have a few examples below.
The 'Peace Flame' which can't be missed as it is right next to the 'Peace Bridge' and the bus station.

We took a 'peaceful' stroll over the 'Peace Bridge' that was built to connect these two communities, that the river had separated;   the Protestants and the Catholics.
This pedestrian only bridge was opened in 2011 and costs 14 million pounds.  It is impressive.

There was something special about that bridge.  Maybe it is the gentle lines of the designs, or the angles it creates?  I am not sure, but I felt optimistic while walking along it.
It is quite inviting.

"Hands Across The Divide" built in 1992.  The two hands inspire to connect and work towards peace and hope for this city and ultimately for Northern Ireland.

Very heavy stuff in Northern Ireland.  Deb and I felt compelled to understand and read everything here to learn about the situations.  But quite an emotional toll on us.  We think visiting Northern Ireland is still a great idea....in a few years if things continue as they are maybe it will be more a part of history rather than everyday thoughts and feelings.
We can only hope.
