"There Be Seals Captain" on Inishmore

This is really not the way I would begin my blog.....jumping into the middle...but I can't stand it one more minute.
We saw seals on the Aran Island of Inishmore!  What an incredible sight.  In the last few years the numbers have increased from 15 to 20 seals in this colony.  We were very fortunate to see them.  They can only be seen at low tide and even then they may not be seen at all.
Deb and I could have stayed there the rest of the day.  A marvel to watch.  They played.  They swam.  They did their exercises....and they watched the funny tourists.
Just a wee warning...neither Deb nor I have a great zoom on our cameras.  The quality is not superior....but we are definitely still really happy with the shots we did get.

10 Euros + mini bus tour + camera + seals =  PRICELESS

There are 32 different types of seal species.
I believe these might be Harbor Seals.  They are found on the rocky shores or beaches on the Atlantic.  They can reach 5-6 feet long and have large 'puppy dog' eyes.

The little head in the water is one of the seals taking a wee dip.

Cute as a button and very curious.
I will be posting a short video of them on Facebook if you get a chance to take a peek.  It is sweet.
