The little village of Betws-y-Coed, "Prayer house in the wood" has a population of about 534 people. It lies in the Snowdonia National Park in Northern Wales.
From Conwy, it is an easy half hour bus ride.
People come from all over to hike the numerous trails that begin here in the village.
Below is the romantic Pont-y-Pair Bridge and the River Llugwy that flows through the town.
If you are not a hiker, it is a touristy haven. Lots of cafes, shops and restaurants. Very lovely to sit outside and enjoy the beauty of the village all around.
The river is definitely the highlight of the town. With monstrous boulders in it....and lots of people climbing through it.
A Royal Post box built into a stone wall. They are itty-bitty.....no parcels please.
Beautiful blooming trees right now in Wales.
Gorgeous blossoms.
A sleepy sheep in the village just soaking up the warmth of the sun.
Ivy grows everywhere....I am not kidding. They are quite beautiful but also incredibly hardy.
A fun sign in Betws-y-Coed. We are a long way from home.
Vibrant Spring plants coming to life.
This little 'Corn Bunting' bird, I believe, was very difficult to get a photo of. But it was worth it.
A really great day in this beautiful village. Next time: Hiking.
