Salzburg walk.....and singing in the rain

“If you reject the food, ignore the customs, fear the religion and avoid the people, you might better stay at home.” – James Michener

The bus dropped us right beside the Salzach River.  Everything is so green.  Flowers are still out.  As the day progressed, rain and mist added to the mystic of the Hohensalzburg Fortress high on the hill, which we will be touring on Friday.
We spent most of the day wandering around the Old City, checking out all the shops and chocolate stores.  Looking at post card after post card.  Watching the people;  locals and the tourists.  Nearly got run over by a huge tour group right on one of the narrow little alleys.
Deb kept us on task by following Rick Steves Old City walking tour.  Because we did it on our own, we could spend as long as we liked in each area.  Soaking it all in and feeling a though we belong here.
